The simple and elegant tulip was the subject of my final order of 2017. The client sent me inspiration photos of her bedroom with a vase of fresh cut tulips beside her bed. She wanted a long-term design solution to capture the feeling those flowers evoked, without the maintenance of fresh.
I worked out the design of the tulips through a combination of studying botanical plates, photos of my own, and the work of other paper florists. To keep the feeling of a velvety tulip petal that wasn't overly stiff or heavy, I used two different weights of crepe paper, both in white. The inner trio of petals is made of 32 gram crepe and the outer trio is made from doublette crepe. All the materials were sourced from Rose Mille Studio.
